Come on in with your projects during any open hours to use the laser. Please consider donating if you've been waiting to use the laser! We had to order a $900 part to get it back up so any donations would be greatly appreciated!
Please note: The laser won't be fixed by Sunday's open hours. You should still come to the lab and check out our vinyl cutter, silhouette, 3D printer, electronics lab, and 3D routers!
As soon as the laser is running, we will post to let you know!
Threadless.com is offering free 'reject' t-shirts to groups of 8 or more. We will be hosting an event and want you to come!
Come to the lab on Thursday 26th from 5-9pm and we'll work on the shirts. We'll post photos to their blog and our group might win gift certificates for all attendees.
YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR THE EVENT BEFORE NOON on FRIDAY April 13th (this Friday). This is the date that threadless wants all group requests in by. If we don't have your name, we won't have enough tshirts for you to attend.

It's been a busy week for the CUC Fab Lab! Tuesday from 4-5pm and tonight (Thursday 4-5 pm) we are presenting at the Urbana Free Library's Teen Tech Week. Teens are able to use the silhouette cameos to make cards and stickers of their own designs. Furthermore, on Wednesday morning, we were featured on WCIA. See the videos here and here!
Come join us this Saturday, Feb 11 from 10-2.This is a free class but some projects may require the purchase of supplies. Please email FABLAB-CURRICULUM@LISTSERV.ILLINOIS.EDU to register.
In this free class, children and adults will create custom valentines. We will offer an Intro to Inkscape where youth grades 2 -12 to adults will learn basic design skills and complete a Valentine's Day themed wood or acrylic gift they cut on the Epilog Laser. In addition, children may choose to make valentines stickers or cards with one of our plotters.
