You should have a dedicated mid-range nVidia or AMD graphics card... or maybe the latest Intel HD 6000 (5th generation Core i5/i7) could do it without completely melting.

can use Kinect Fusion to make scans (in color, many control options) -

Still is limited to a certain distance/scan box size but there's more control with this one.
